PART 1 GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. Asus (Singapore) & JK Technology Pte Ltd hereby includes Enhanced Product Assurance for the hardware product you have purchased (Product) under MOE PLD tender with either 1 replacement or 2 times repair for loss of product or damage incurred not due to manufacturing defects as follows:
- (a) Accident (e.g. lightning, power surge, fire)
- (b) Water spillage
- (c) Screen crack
2. No geographical limits, but such claim MUST be initiated and processed within Singapore. The device must be physically present in Singapore at the time of claim submission.
3. Definitions. It is expressively declared and agreed that for the purpose of this terms and conditions, each of the following words and expressions shall have the following meanings:
- (a) Accidental - Shall mean an involuntary, external forcible and/or violent event that gives rise to Damage that is unforeseen, fortuitous and not permitted and occurs independently of all other causes.
- (b) Claim - Shall mean a Claim for any of the entitlements and benefits under JK Technology Pte Ltd. JK Technology Pte Ltd will have the sole liberty to decide on the ways to settle Claims, either by repairing or Replacement.
- (c) Damage - Shall mean physical breakage or destruction of the Customer’s Product or damage caused by liquid that prevents the Customer’s Product from working correctly.
- (d) Date of Incident - Shall mean the date when the Accident or Loss or Damage occurs
- (e) Manufacturer Serial Number - Identification number used to identify the Product.
- (f) Replacement - Shall mean the replacement of the one (1) original set similar item as that of the Product or another Product which has similar specification should there be no available stock of the similar one as at the date of Replacement. Customer who wish to top-up cash change product model is not permitted.
4. Notice of Claim
- (a) Written notice of Claim must be given to JK Technology Pte Ltd within fourteen (14) days after the Date of Incident.
- (b) The Customer shall produce for our examination pertinent documents at such reasonable times and shall co-operate with JK Technology Pte Ltd in all matters pertaining to any Claims. Failure to comply with this condition may prejudice the Claim and JK Technology Pte Ltd and/or the Service Provider reserves the right to reject such Claim. Document may include: a valid police report, evidence of non-negligence, or proof that the damage was not induced by the customer.
- (c) Written notice of Claim given by or on behalf of the Customer to JK Technology Pte Ltd, providing information sufficient to identify the Customer shall be deemed notice to JK Technology Pte Ltd.
5. Limitation of Claim
- (a) No benefit shall be payable for any Claim filed to JK Technology Pte Ltd beyond a period of fourteen (14) days from the Date of Incident.
6. Surrender of Product
- (a) Prior to the replacement of the Product in the event the Product is beyond repair (in cases of damages), Customer shall return or surrender the Product with all original parts intact and accessories including battery, power supply adapter, and others that comes together as standard accessories.
7. Repair & Replacement Policy
- (a) Beyond Repair - 1 on 1 Replacement (in cases where device is deemed beyond repair). It is ONLY 1 time replacement and 2 times repair had not been exhausted.
- (b) Full unit replacement may involve a refurbished or recertified device in verified working condition, featuring specifications that are similar or better than the original unit. The replacement device will carry a minimum warranty period matching the remaining duration of the original device’s warranty.
- (c) Repairable - 2 times repair and the total maximum repairable value do not exceed 80% of the product full value.
8. Termination of Coverage - The cover shall terminate automatically on the earliest of the following dates:
- (a) If you are not the owner of a Product as this product purchase under MOE PLD is solely meant for student only for school use;
- (b) The default product warranty of 3 years expires; or
- (c) A unit replacement claimed; or
- (d) 2 times repair claimed; or
PART 2 CONSUMER RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Customer shall exercise duty of care with all reasonable precautions for the maintenance and safety use of the product to prevent accident or damage.
2. Before JK Technology Pte Ltd Enhanced Product Assurance service is provided, the Customer must take the following steps:
- (a) Follow all service request procedures specified by JK Technology Pte Ltd.
- (b) Backup or secure all programs, files, and data stored on the Product.
- (c) Remove all data, including confidential, proprietary, and personal information.
- (d) JK Technology Pte Ltd will not be responsible for any loss of data—whether confidential, proprietary, or personal—on Products submitted or accessed for claim.
- (e) Remove all features, parts, accessories, options, alterations, or attachments not covered by the warranty.
- (f) Ensure the Product is free from any legal or ownership restrictions that would prevent repair or replacement.
PART 3 WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS
1. The following are excluded from JK Technology Pte Ltd Enhanced Product Assurance for Accidental Damage:-
2. The warranty only covers technical hardware issues during the Warranty Period under normal use conditions. ASUS does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation of this Product. It does not cover any software issues even if packaged or sold with Product, or customer induced damages or circumstances such as but not limited to:
- (a) Damage caused to this Product(s) by you or any non-authorized third party, including but not limited to improper installation or modification with any non-original software or hardware (such as HDD, SSD and/or RAM.).
- (b) Damage caused to this Product(s) by non-original configuration.
- (c) The serial number of the Product, components or accessories has been altered, cancelled or removed.
- (d) Obsolescence.
- (e) Damage (accidental or otherwise) to the Product that does not impact the Product's operation and functions, such as without limitation to rust, change in color, texture or finish, wear and tear, and gradual deterioration.
- (f) Damage to the Product caused by intentional or accidental misuse, abuse, neglect or improper maintenance, and use under abnormal conditions.
- (g) Damage to the Product caused by improper installation, improper connection or malfunction of a peripheral device such as printer, optical drive, network card, or USB device, etc.
- (h) Damage to the Product resulting from use outside of the operation, storage parameters, or environment detailed in the User's Manual.
- (i) Damage to the Product caused by third party software or virus(es); or there is software loss or data loss that may occur during repair or replacement.
- (j) Un-usability due to forgotten or lost security passwords.
- (k) Un-usability of or damage to the Product caused by contamination with hazardous substances, diseases, vermin, or radiation.
- (l) Fraud, theft, unexplained disappearance, or damages/detrimental circumstances caused by a willful act of the customer.
- (m) Un-usability or damage to the Product caused by installing and using the Unlock Device App, which is a utility that will unlock your Product's boot loader but will render the Warranty null & void.
PART 4 LIABILITY
1. JK Technology Pte Ltd reserves the right to reject any request under this Enhanced Product Assurance in the event the Customer does meet with any criteria as may be set by JK Technology Pte Ltd at any time and/or any information provided is incomplete, incorrect, and illegible. Any rejection of request is to be decided solely by JK Technology Pte Ltd.
2. In case of any rejection by JK Technology Pte Ltd for any reason whatsoever, no refund shall be granted to the Customer.
3. JK Technology Pte Ltd reserves the rights to change this terms and conditions and any other terms without any prior notice to the Customer.
STANDARD WARRANTY TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Warranty period of the Product: This warranty applies for the period defined on the label sticker at the back of the Product (“Warranty Period”).
1. Asus Singapore hereby warrants that the hardware product you have purchased (Product) is free from defects in materials or workmanship under normal use during the warranty period applicable to the Product as defined in the Limited Product Warranty Chart. Your product purchased may come with 1 or 3 year warranty, please note that for battery, it is also cover up to 3 years.
2. The Warranty does not cover bundled accessories, which were delivered together with the Product such as: cables, bag, mouse etc. If the Product fails during normal and proper use within the Warranty Period, ASUS will repair or replace the defective parts of the Product, or the Product itself, with new or reconditioned parts or products that are functionally equivalent or superior to those originally supplied.
3. This Warranty applies only if the Product was newly manufactured on the Date of Purchase and not sold as used, refurbished or manufacturing seconds. Please keep the original purchase invoice and this warranty card for future service request. This Warranty does not include failure caused by improper installation, operation, cleaning or maintenance, accident, damage, misuse, abuse, non-ASUS modifications to the product, any software programs, normal wear and tear or any other event, act, default or omission outside ASUS’ control. For further details, see section 6 of this Warranty Card.
4. All components that an ASUS Service Center repaired or replaced will be under warranty for three months or for the remainder of the warranty period, whichever is applicable. The Repair Center may recover the originally configured operation system bundled with the Product. ASUS will not restore or transfer any data or software from the Product’s original storage media. If the Product is repaired, all user generated data may be permanently deleted
5. If the Product is under Warranty, You hereby agree to transfer the ownership of replaced defective parts and such parts shall automatically become the property of ASUS
6. Software Support Any software delivered with the Product is provided “as-is”. ASUS does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of any software provided with the Product. This warranty covers the hardware of the Product. ASUS will provide technical support for the Product’s preinstalled software only when it concerns the proper functioning of the hardware. For other problems with the software, we advise You to review the user manuals, the ASUS support web site and/or other online resources. Third party software may require support from the respective vendors.
7. TFT LCD defect policy Despite the highest possible standards, the intricate manufacturing of thin film transistor (TFT) liquid crystal display (LCD) screens may still produce slight visual imperfections. These visual imperfections do not impair the performance of Your Product. However, ASUS will provide the Warranty service for Your ASUS Product’s TFT LCD screen only if there are at least:
- (a) 3 bright pixels or 5 dark pixels or 8 bright and/or dark pixels in total; or
- (b) 2 adjacent bright pixels or 2 adjacent dark pixels; or
- (c) 3 bright and/or dark pixels within an area 15 mm in diameter. (Please note: A bright pixel is a white or sub-pixel that is always on under BLACK pattern. A dark pixel is a black or sub-pixel that is always off under patterns excluding black.)
- (d) The inspection conditions are:
- Not less than 30cm distance, in a straight line, between TFT screen and inspector
- Room temperature between 20-40° C
- Lighting is between 300 and 500 lux
8. Customer responsibility.
- (a) When using the Product:
- (i) Read the user manual first and use the Product only according to the user manual.
- (ii) Do not leave the Product connected to the power supply once it is fully charged and not turned on. Some electrical items are not designed to be left connected to the power supply for extended periods of time
- (iii) Periodically back up your data stored on the Product.
- (iv) Keep the original packaging. In case the Product needs to be returned for repair, original packaging provides a better protection for the Product during transportation.
- (v) Please check the manual and the ASUS support website for troubleshooting solutions, before contacting the customer service.
- (vi) If the Product is designed with the TPM (Trusted Platform Module) function, keep the embedded security chip pre-boot password in a safe place (Note: Due to the design of TPM, it is not possible for ASUS to reset the embedded security chip pre-boot password. If the password is lost, the Product can only be repaired by replacing the entire motherboard, which is not covered under the Warranty.)
WHEN CONTACTING SERVICE CENTRE
1. Before contacting JK technical support, ensure that You have the Product in front of You and that it is turned on, if feasible. Please also be ready to provide the Product’s serial number, the model name and proof of purchase
2. You will be requested by the technical support team to perform some of the Product’s troubleshooting tasks or actions, which may include the following:
3. Restoring the Product’s operating system, factory-installed drivers, and applications to the factory default settings.
- (a) Installing updates, patches or service packs.
- (b) Running diagnostic tools and programs on the Product.
- (c) Allowing the technical support to access the Product with remote diagnostic tools (when available).
- (d) Performing other reasonable activities requested by the technical support team, which will assist in identifying or resolving the problems.
- (e) If the problem is not solved remotely, you will have to return the Product to an JK Service Centre (this process is called “RMA”). JK will issue an RMA number for Your Product. Please record Your RMA Number for tracking purposes.
- (f) Describe the problem clearly and completely on the RMA request form.
- (g) Enclose a copy of this completed warranty card and a copy of Your sales invoice/receipt detailing the purchase of Your Product. (Please note: ASUS & JK Technology reserves the right to request the original documents.) If you do not provide the requested documents for warranty validation then the manufacture date of the Product as recorded by ASUS & JK Technology will be deemed to be the start of Warranty Period.
- (h) Ensure that you have fully backed up all the data stored on Your Product and removed any personal, confidential, or proprietary information before any service process is started. You agree that ASUS may delete any data, software, or programs installed on the Product without restoring them. ASUS shall not be held liable for the permanent loss, damage, or misuse of your data.
EXCLUSIONS FROM THIS LIMITED WARRANTY SERVICES
1. ASUS does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation of this Product. The warranty only covers technical hardware issues during the warranty period and in normal use conditions. It does not apply to software issues or customer induced damages or circumstances such as but not limited to:
- (a) The Product has been tampered with, repaired and/or modified by non-authorized personnel;
- (b) The serial number of the Product, components or accessories has been altered, cancelled or removed;
- (c) The warranty seals have been broken or altered;
- (d) Obsolescence;
- (e) Damage (accidental or otherwise) to the Product that does not impact the Product’s operation and functions, such as without limitation to rust, change in color, texture or finish, wear and tear, and gradual deterioration;
- (f) Damage to the Product caused by war, terrorism, fire, accident, natural disaster, intentional or accidental misuse, abuse, neglect or improper maintenance, and use under abnormal conditions;
- (g) Damage to the Product caused by improper installation, improper connection or malfunction of a peripheral device such as printer, optical drive, network card, or USB device, etc.;
- (h) Damage to the Product caused by an external electrical fault or any accident;
- (i) Damage to the Product resulting from use outside of the operation, storage parameters, or environment detailed in the User’s Manual;
- (j) Damage to the Product caused by third party software or virus(es); or there is software loss or data loss that may occur during repair or replacement;
- (k) Unusability due to forgotten or lost security passwords;
- (l) Unusability of or damage to the Product caused by contamination with hazardous substances, diseases, vermin, or radiation;
- (m) Fraud, theft, unexplained disappearance, or willful act;
- (n) Unusability or damage to the Product caused by installing and using the Unlock Device App, which is a utility that will unlock your Product's boot loader but will render the Product's warranty null and void.
2. Except as provided in this warranty and to the maximum extent permitted by law, ASUS is not responsible;
- (a) for direct, special, incidental or consequential damages resulting from any breach of warranty or condition, or under any other legal theory, including but not limited to loss of use;
- (b) loss of revenue;
- (c) loss of actual or anticipated profits (including loss of profits on contracts);
- (d) loss of the use of money;
- (e) loss of anticipated savings;
- (f) loss of business;
- (g) loss of opportunity;
- (h) loss of goodwill;
- (i) loss of reputation;
- (j) loss of, damage to or corruption of data;or
- (k) any indirect or consequential loss or damage whatsoever caused including the replacement of equipment and property, any costs of recovering or reproducing any data stored on or used with the Product.
3. The foregoing limitation shall not apply to death or personal injury claims, or any statutory liability for intentional and gross negligent acts and/or omissions by ASUS. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages; to the extent such jurisdiction is governing this Warranty the above limitations do not apply to you.
PRIVACY
1. You agree and understand that it is necessary for ASUS & JK Technology to collect, transfer, and process personal data in order to facilitate the requested service;
2. And that for this purpose Your data may be transferred to and processed in any country where ASUS or its affiliated companies maintains offices, which include countries outside of the European Union, the mandatory laws of which do not guarantee a data protection level equivalent to the laws of EU member states. However, ASUS will use and protect Your personal data at any time and in any country subject to the ASUS Privacy Policy.

OUT OF WARRANTY CASES
1. Returning the Product to the JK Service Centre during the warranty period does not automatically mean that it will be repaired free of charge.
2. Upon receiving Your Product, ASUS & JK Technology reserves the right to check the validity of Your Warranty and Your request for Warranty service.
3. If the Warranty Period has lapsed or if any of the exclusions in clause 6 apply, Your request will be deemed out of warranty (“OOW”).
4. If Your service request is OOW, a Service Charge List with an offer for repair will be provided to You, which You may accept or reject.
5. If You accept the repair we will provide You with an invoice for the repair labor, spare parts and other costs stated in the Service Charge List. You must pay the invoice within 4 weeks of the invoice’s date of issue. The repair will only be completed after the invoice is settled.
